Please note: The drop-boxes were formerly managed under a City service contract but are now independently managed by Honolulu Disposal Service. The City's service contract for the drop-off program ended June 30, 2012. The drop-off bins are being phased out in favor of the development of more convenient curbside and onsite recycling programs. Please contact the City's Recycling Branch (768-3200) for more information regarding the further expansion of curbside recycling and program assistance for condo recycling. New school recycling programs are in the works. Honolulu Disposal Service continues to maintain recycling bins at some locations. No revenues are going to the schools, as the value of the recyclable materials is being used to cover the service costs.
