School Recycling Shows

The City’s Department of Environmental Services is continuing its longstanding partnership with the Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) to bring reuse and recycling educational shows to students, teachers and parents across Oahu.

This year will feature the world premiere of the preschool show, “Trash and Treasure”.  This interactive adventure for HTY’s youngest audience, explores the world of trash from garbage trucks, to the tiny “treasures” that fill our pockets. Music and magic pepper this exploration of how no resource or opportunity should be wasted in the life cycle of “stuff.”  The show will preschools and elementary schools from January to March 1 followed by public performances at Tenney Theatre from March 4 through 12. Please visit http://www.htyweb.org/trash-treasure/ for more information or contact HTY at schools@htyweb.org or 839-9885 (Ext 701) for tickets.

Our ever-popular travelling performance workshop, “Sort it Out” is taking some time off this year to undergo some updates.  Please keep your eyes peeled for a revamped show with a new set, and skits and songs in the 2019/2020 school year!
